We are always looking for delicious, easy recipes we can make in a hurry. This recipe can be made from start to finish in 30 minutes and my whole family loved it.

I served the beef over rice and steamed some vegetables for a quick, well-balanced meal.

How to brown ground beef:

Browning ground beef is one of the simplest and easiest meats to cook. If you are in a hurry, ground beef is your kind of meat.

It is extremely easy to cook and take about 8-10 minutes. Here is how you do it:

Preheat stove to medium high heat.

Place your ground beef in a non stick pan and place on stovetop.

As your meat begins to cook, take a metal spatula, and begin to cut up the meat with it. As you cut your meat, be sure to rotate and flip it, so you can ensue that all the meat gets cooked.

Continue this chopping, rotating and flipping process until there are no large meat chunks, and no pink areas in the meat.

I then like to rinse and drain my meat. I do this by running it under water, then using the spatula to hold the meat in, I tilt the pan, and let the water and grease drip out.

How to make this Teriyaki Rice Skillet healthier:

Lately I have been replacing most of my ground beef meals, with ground turkey. I honestly can’t tell the difference.

This recipe could definitely be switched out for ground turkey, instead of ground beef.

We also recommend having brown or cauliflower rice, instead of white sticky rice.

You could also eat this over zucchini noodles and it would be delicious.

Ok do you guy's have a hardcover regular cookbook also ?

  2. Cyd says:

We have 6 cookbooks, but none of them are hardcover. You can find all of our books under the cookbook tab on the homepage of our blog.

  3. Jacqueline says:

What brand teriyaki sauce do you all use?

  4. Cyd says:

We often just buy what is on sale or a good price. But you can't go wrong with Veri Veri Teriyaki sauce.

  5. Theresa says:

Teriyaki sauce was too much. Over powering. Followed recipe exactly.

  6. cm says:

I have the program "Copy Me That" which is fantastic when coping recipes except on your recipes you can not highlight one number and therefore can't copy. Anyway you can change that because you have some fabulous recipes.

  7. Heather says:

I guess I’m slightly confused. Do I brown the beef first then add those other ingredients, or brown them all together? I guess I’m only confused because it all says that you can rinse the ground d beef after cooking it...but I assumed if you’re rinsing it then the other ingredients would not be in there? TIA!!

  8. Sher says:

too much content to the recipe...too long...just a photo and the recipe would be great !

  9. Cyd Adamson says:

Hi Sher. We try to be helpful to all levels of cooks. So you can scroll down directly to the recipe.

  10. Cyd Adamson says:

All you want to do is really drain off the grease. If your family has sensitive tummies, you can drain the grease, gently rinse the beef and drain the water off. All of your flavors will still be there. Just drain off the grease or water.

  11. Cyd Adamson says:

You can easily cut back on any ingredients to suit your tastes.

  12. Stacie says:

Love this recipe, what recipe do you use for the rice that is pictured with it?

  13. Cyd says:

We like brown rice or white rice with this recipe.

  14. Laurie says:

This was good but way too salty, too much teriyaki sauce. I will try again but will use 1/2 water & 1/2 teriyaki sauce.
