What does it mean when God says you are enough? ›

Isn't it a relief to know that we can never be “good enough” apart from our Savior – and that He loves us anyway. God wants you just as you are! You are enough, because you were made in the image of God and carry His likeness in You!

Reason: The verse closely resembles Mark 9:29, but it is lacking in Matthew in א (original handwriting), B, θ, some Italic, Syriac, Coptic and Ethiopic manuscripts. It is, however, found in this place in some Greek mss not quite so ancient – C, D, K, L – as well as some other mss of the ancient versions.

You are enough means that you don't have to strive to become more worthy, more valid, more acceptable, or more loved. You already are all of those things.

And our sufficiency, the apostle says, is not of ourselves but of God. This, then, is what I mean by God being enough. It is that we find in Him, in the fact of His existence, and of His character, all that we can possibly want for everything. God is, must be our answer to every question and every cry of need.

The book of Habakkuk offers us a picture of a prideful people being humbled, while the righteous live by faith in God (2:4). It reminds us that while God may seem silent and uninvolved in our world, He always has a plan to deal with evil and always works out justice . . .

Trust the Lord, no matter what. That is Habakkuk's message for God's people around the world today. Believers can, and must, trust in God no matter how tumultuous outward circ*mstances may become. Habakkuk is unique in that the prophet is not speaking to God's people but rather to God himself.

Habakkuk asks the question of why God allows the wicked to prosper, often at the expense of the righteous. But he realizes that judgment will come upon their wickedness. Yet, God is allowing the Babylonians to come in and conquer Israel. They were even more wicked than Israel's leaders.

Mark 15:28 does not appear in the most reliable translations but it is in the King James Version. Scholars suggest this was added as a footnote—a helpful commentary by some later scribe—that accidentally came to be copied into later manuscripts.

Scripture for when you feel like you're not enough

Zephaniah 3:17 – The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

El Shaddai is one of seven covenant names through which God revealed Himself to Israel. In Hebrew, El Shaddai means “the All-Sufficient One,” or “the God Who is more than enough.” He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

2 Corinthians 12:9—“My grace is all you need, for my power is the greatest when you are weak.” Psalm 73:26—"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

You are fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14) As a matter of fact, you have always been enough, every since the beginning. God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good and He validated it completely. (Genesis 1:31) Look down your row and tell them, I am enough and that's that!

At its core, the phrase is about self-acceptance and self-worth, and it's about understanding that you are worthy of love, respect, and all of the good things that life has to offer, just as you are. ​

Psalm 145:14 reminds us that God upholds us when we fall. Like He did with each of the people in the Bible, He uses our mistakes and failures to teach us more about Him, to show His mercy, and to encourage others as they find themselves unable to measure up. No one in the Bible was “enough” by our culture's standards.

The Bible teaches that God knows that we all mess up and fall short of perfection, but he created us to have a relationship with him and he is always willing to forgive us, accept us and change our lives. You don't need to be a 'religious' person to have that relationship with God.
