Seems like there will be a greater need for smaller and efficient industrial properties to keep up with the continued trend of same day shipping...and I'm all for it! It was great to attend the Associated Builders and Contractors Rocky Mountain 2024 Economic Forecast this morning. The guest speaker was Dr. Anirban Basu and he presented some great economic data. His presentation was insightful, funny and engaging (all hard things to do when presenting economic data). Below is a picture from his last slide in his presentation. He did say that he now does not believe a recession will hit in 2024, but more likely to come in 2025. My view is that the US consumer and government are merely kicking the can down the road and a recession will hit in 2025, spurred by unsustainable consumer and government debt and geopolitical fallout coming later this year. Curios to hear what LinkedIn has to say. Are we headed for a recession in the back half of this year, are we currently in a recession, or are we kicking the can down the road for a future recession? #macroeconomics #consumerdebt #fiscalresponsibility

Good news if you like production and business growth! Bad news if you're hoping for the Fed to cut rates this year. ISM manufacturing data was released this morning and it was stronger than expected and marked the first expansion in the manufacturing sector after 16 months of contraction. The Manufacturing PMI rating was 50.3 versus the 48.4 expected. A reading above 50 represents an expansion, whereas an index below 50 suggests a contraction.#manufacturing #industrialproduction
